About my research
The central practical problem in drug discovery is that it is expensive, slow, and uncertain. Experimentally testing every possible compound is unrealistic. Prof. Praveen Kumar’s Lab research seeks to make the process more rational by combining computation, AI and experimental biology so that researchers can prioritize the molecules and targets most worth investigating.
My Webinar competition entry
ANRF @iitmandi7301 Webinar 2026 | HSP90 targeting of WNA & WFA in HCC | Praveen Kumar | SVCE
This webinar demonstrates the therapeutic potential of Withanolide A and Withaferin A as mitochondrial HSP90-targeting agents, offering a promising strategy to disrupt cancer-cell survival mechanisms and combat hepatocellular carcinoma.
Let's connect
Prof. P.K. Praveen Kumar is particularly interested in interdisciplinary collaborations that integrate artificial intelligence, computational biology, natural-product chemistry, molecular modelling, cancer biology, immunopharmacology and nanomedicine for the discovery and development of novel therapeutics and vaccines. His current interests particularly emphasize AI-assisted drug discovery, natural-product-derived therapeutics, HSP90/TRAP1 and mitochondrial targeting in cancer, immunomodulatory mechanisms, targeted drug delivery, and computational approaches to emerging infectious diseases. He is especially interested in collaborations that can bridge computational predictions with molecular, cellular, animal and translational validation.
