About my research
We use computational tools (Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo simulations) to study the phase behavior of polymers, and its role in spatial organization in biology. We are trying to mimic some of these organizational principles used by the cellular world to optimize enzyme kinetics in cell-free systems.

Current research challenge
Design a cell-free pyrenoid system capable of fixing CO2. We are trying to use phase separation of proteins to organize the Rubisco enzyme in such a way that it enhances its catalytic efficiency.
My Webinar competition entry
ANRF + IIT Mandi Webinar Competition 2026 | Engineering Membraneless Organelles| Gaurav Chauhan
Phase separation of proteins can be used to efficiently organize enzymes for better efficiency
Let's connect
We would be happy to collaborate on cell biology problems related to phase behavior of biomacromolecules and Cell-free synthetic biology problems. We can work on the physics of polymer organization in these systems and its effect on reaction kinetics etc., among other relevant problems
