About my research

The proposed research focuses on developing an affordable, portable and AI-enabled diagnostic solution for women’s reproductive and hormonal health, particularly Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as PCOS, hormonal imbalance and infertility care. The proposed PMOS diagnostic kit aims to support low-cost hormonal analysis and early screening through point-of-care testing. By integrating biosensing and artificial intelligence, the proposed solution seeks to bring hormonal assessment closer to Village Primary Health Centres, rural clinics, community health centres and fertility-care settings, where access to advanced diagnostic facilities can be limited. The broader aim is to bridge the gap between advanced diagnostic technologies and their accessibility in resource-constrained communities, enabling affordable and decentralized hormonal assessment, better follow-up, and improved support for women’s reproductive and fertility care.

Current research challenge

The research addresses the limited accessibility, affordability and timely availability of hormonal screening for women, particularly in rural and underserved communities. It aims to address the challenges of early identification and monitoring of PMOS (formerly known as PCOS), hormonal imbalance and infertility-related conditions. The work also seeks to reduce dependence on centralized diagnostic facilities by enabling portable, point-of-care assessment and supporting better follow-up and healthcare decision-making.

ANRF + IIT Mandi 2026 | Assistive System for Women's Fertility Monitoring | Dr. J. Yogapriya | KNCET

The webinar highlighted the potential of AI, biosensing, robotics and assistive technologies to enable low-cost hormonal analysis and accessible healthcare solutions for PMOS (formerly PCOS), infertility and rural communities.

I am particularly interested in collaborating across biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, electrochemical biosensing, women’s health and rural healthcare. I would like to explore collaborations on affordable point-of-care diagnostics, hormonal biomarker detection, AI-assisted health monitoring, clinical validation and translational research for PMOS (formerly known as PCOS), hormonal imbalance and infertility care.
