HST is an annual event organized by Catalyst that aims to bring together stakeholders of Indian startup ecosystem. HST 2017 had participation from large number of startup enthusiasts, investors, industry experts and government officials who deliberated on a range of startups related issues. 15 handpicked startups out of over 100 applications pitched to a jury and five selected teams were offered incubation support at Catalyst.
The 2nd edition of HST will have a much larger scale and outreach. In addition to curated panel discussions on varied topics, HST this year will feature ‘MVP Boot-Camp’ for Idea stage startups, ‘Investors’ Den’ for startups looking to raise seed funds, ‘Meet a Mentor’ for one-to-one Q&A with tech-business experts, and ‘tête-à-tête’ with faculty for aspiring entrepreneurs seeking technical guidance
HST 2018 will be held on April 28-29 at picturesque IIT Mandi campus in Kamand valley by the side of river Uhl in Himachal Pradesh
HST 2018 will be fruitful to Indian startup ecosystem stakeholders. While the early stage startups will get to learn the rules of the game, operational startups will have a shot at raising funds from investors. Industry experts and government will get to interact and guide next generation entrepreneurs.

Early stage start-ups will get an opportunity to pitch their venture for funding from pedigree investors from funds including Bharat Innovation Fund, IvyCap Ventures, Ankur Capital, Waterbridge ventures, Sangam Ventures, CapAleph, Omnivore partners.
Idea stage startups will get a chance to pitch for incubation support from IIT Mandi Catalyst that involves infrastructural support, office space, grant and funding upto 15 lakhs, mentoring and much more.

In this two hour hands on in depth session, Prof. Bringi Dev will take start-ups through the Need for Lean, importance of articulating the Core Business Idea, the Lean Canvas, Testing and Validation of Business Idea, establishing value proposition and testing the idea through MVP.

Among the fastest growing states in India, Himachal had at a CAGR of 10.8% during the decade 2005-2015. With per capita GSDP 1.5 times the national per capita GDP, the state has tremendous potential for business activity in agriculture, horticulture, biotech, food processing, clean energy, thermal energy, tourism, pharma and healthcare. Government of Himachal Pradesh, through CM Startup Scheme launched in 2017, is also promoting already flourishing startup culture in the state.
Mr. Kanakia has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, mentor and investor. He is currently serving as president at Kanakia Ventures. He is focused on mentoring young entrepreneurs in India and has invested in 18 early stage companies since January 2010. He is an alumus of IIT Bombay, Case Western Reserve University, and Stanford University.
Mr. Mittal heads NSTEDB division of Department of Science and Technology, GoI. He has been instrumental in giving a new vibrancy to promoting innovation and entrepreneurial acumen among a wide section of Indian entrepreneurs. ranging from simple rural industries to high end technological enterprises. He is an alumnus of IIM-A.
Sonam Wangchuk, awardee of "Global Award for Sustainable Architecture", is an engineer, innovator and education reformist from Ladhakh. He is the founding-director of the Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL), founded in 1988. Known for designing the SECMOL campus, he is also the founder of Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh.
