"AAGAZ" the annual inter year sports tournament held every year to encourage the spirit of sports

AAGAZ is the annual inter year sports tournament held every year in the spring semester to encourage the spirit of sports among the students of IIT Mandi. AAGAZ '14 was successfully organized this year by the dedicated work of the students in general and the sports secretary of the college, Mohit Rawat, in particular along with the support of the coaches and PTI.

The tournament began with its inaugural ceremony on the eve of the event (i.e. 4th April, 2014). The inaugural ceremony also witnessed the inauguration of the newly made badminton hall in the south campus of the Institute by the Director, Prof. T. A. Gonsalves. The badminton hall is one of the best and first of the sports facilities being provided to the students in the main campus and is being utilized by the students to the fullest. The event was kick-started by a match between Prof. T.A. Gonsalves and Prof. Chayan Nandi and the students. It was followed by an exciting Inter year girls' badminton match between 1st year and 3rd year. The inauguration ended with snacks and tea.

In AAGAZ '14, different games of Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Hockey, Football, Basketball and Chess were played in Kamand Campus, Mandi Campus as well as Sundernagar. The matches were played with full energy and true sportsman spirit which made AAGAZ '14 a big success.

The tournament ended with the closing ceremony on 6th April, 2014. The ceremony was graced by Prof. T.A. Gonsalves and Prof. Suman Kalyan Pal and the winners were given away the prizes. The 3rd year won the overall championship trophy of AAGAZ '14.
