The School offers the following academic programmes:

B.Tech.



The B.Tech. program is a four-year undergraduate program. The course work is spread across eight semesters. The courses include core courses, discipline electives and free electives. Currently, the School offers two B.Tech. programmes:

1. B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
2. B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (EE)




Master of Science(by Research) :



Master of Science (M.S.) by Research program at IIT Mandi is designed to help scholars acquire in-depth knowledge by carrying out advanced research in a chosen area. As compared to an M.Tech. program, the M.S. is research oriented and demands a thesis that is a significant contribution to the area of research. In addition to the thesis, students have to complete five courses related to their area of research.




M.Tech. - VLSI



The M.Tech. (Electrical Engineering), with specialization in Very Large Scale Integration is being offered in the SCEE since August 2016. View More




M.Tech. - Power Electronics and Drives (PED)



The M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Drives is being offered in the SCEE. This program at IIT Mandi is designed to train students for state-of-the-art practices in area of Power Electronics and Drives and to generate new knowledge by engaging in cutting-edge research to serve as a valuable resource for industry and society. The program structure is planned in an application oriented manner through specialized core-courses with a significant hands-on practicum component, research and development (R&D) oriented advanced-level courses and project work. Doctor of Philosophy



The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the highest academic degree awarded by IIT Mandi. In this research-based program, the student submits a thesis which is a significant contribution to the research area. The student is expected to publish in top-quality journals and conferences. The program also has a course-work requirement followed by a comprehensive exam.
