Environment Engineering Lab

.
Lab intended for:
M.Tech. and B.Tech.(Civil)
Brief details of lab:
(Environmental engineering is the application of science and engineering principles to protect and utilize natural resources, control environmental pollution, improve environmental quality to enable healthy ecosystems and comfortable habitation of humans. It is based on multiple disciplines including geology, hydrology, biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, engineering, management, economics, law, etc.
List of experiments :
1.Measurment of pH
2.Total coliform using multiple tube fermentation technique.
3.Fecal coliform test using multiple tube technique.
4.Jar test for determining optimum coagulant dosage.
5.Determine fluoride ion concentration in a water sample.
6.Determine of major cations and anions in water sample.

List of existing facility in lab
1. Ion Chromatograph

Ion chromatography is a chromatography process that separates ions and polar molecules based on their affinity to the ion exchanger. It works on almost any kind of charged molecule—including large proteins, small nucleotides, and amino acids.
2. Microscope

A microscope is an instrument used to see objects that are too small to be seen by the naked eye. Microscopy is the science of investigating small objects and structures using such an instrument.
3. Spectrophotometer

The spectrophotometer is an optical instrument for measuring the intensity of light relative to wavelength. Electromagnetic energy, collected from the sample, enters the device through the aperture (yellow line) and is separated into its component wavelengths by the holographic grating.
4. Electronic Balance

Electronic balances have become standard equipment for many high school and college lab and chemistry ,civil departments. They allow the user to quickly and accurately measure the mass of a substance to a level of accuracy impossible for traditional balances to achieve.
