B. Tech program in School of Engineering had started in 2009 with Mechanical Engineering branch with an intake of 40 students per batch. Currently, the intake in the Mechanical Engineering is 40. School of Engineering has started Civil Engineering program in 2015 with an intake of 20 students. Currently, there are 30 students /per year in civil Engineering. At present, there is total number of 126 students in Mechanical Engineering and 70 students in Civil Engineering pursuing their bachelor degree. In total, 126 students had graduated in Mechanical Engineering till 2018 from the inception of the program.Currently, the School offers two B.Tech. programmes:
1. B.Tech. in Civil Engineering (CE)
2. B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (ME)

2. B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (ME)
School of Engineering had started its M. Tech program in 2014. Currently, there are three specializations in the M. Tech program namely M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Energy Systems, M. Tech in Energy Engineering with specialization in Materials and M.Tech in Structural Engineering.
1. M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Energy Systems (MES)
2. M.Tech. in Energy Engineering with specialization in Materials (EEM)
3. M.Tech. in Structural Engineering (STE)

School of Engineering offering Master of Science (M.S.) by Research in all research areas of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering.
Master of Science (M.S.) by Research program at IIT Mandi is designed to help scholars acquire in-depth knowledge by carrying out advanced research in a chosen area. As compared to M.Tech.program, the M.S. is research oriented and demands a thesis that is a significant contribution to the area of research. In addition to the thesis, students have to complete five courses related to their area of research
Master of Science (M.S.) by Research program at IIT Mandi is designed to help scholars acquire in-depth knowledge by carrying out advanced research in a chosen area. As compared to M.Tech.program, the M.S. is research oriented and demands a thesis that is a significant contribution to the area of research. In addition to the thesis, students have to complete five courses related to their area of research
School of Engineering offering PhD program in all research areas of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering.
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the highest academic degree awarded by IIT Mandi. In this research-based program, the student submits a thesis which is a significant contribution to the research area. The student is expected to publish in top-quality journals and conferences. The program also has a course-work requirement followed by a comprehensive exam.
