Catalyst aims to create impact in a range of relevant areas that bear importance for Himalayan region. There are three tracks in which ideas can be submitted:
Natural resource management, Renewable and clean energy, Climate change, Waste management, other relevant themes
Disaster prevention, Mitigation and management, Road safety, other relevant themes.
Agriculture, Biotechnology, Inclusive healthcare, Financial inclusion, any other area with strong application in Himalayan region.

Innovative technological solutions/ideas for social or economic problems in Himalayan region will be presented by individuals/teams/startups that have a clear and stated intention to build and implement the said solutions in a timelined manner.
Innovators and to-be entrepreneurs/established entrepreneurs can find the missing partners/collaborators to build the solutions relevant for Himalayan region.
IIT Mandi Catalyst will commit financial and active mentoring support to individuals/teams/startups that bring forth promising ideas and commit to implementing them on the ground.

Registration Fee: Rs. 2000 per person, includes participation and food.
Accommodation: Rs. 500/person/day.

The nearest airport to Mandi is the Kullu Airport at Bhuntar, Dharamshala Airport at Gaggal and Chandigarh airport. Flights to Kullu are restricted to only from Delhi, and Shimla.
Distance from Bhuntar Airport to Mandi - 75 KM
Distance from Gaggal Airport to Mandi - 145 KM
Distance from Chandigarh Airport to Mandi - 185 KM
From Delhi or Chandigarh, one can catch the bus from ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminus). There are different varieties of bus facilities from Delhi and Chandigarh - ordinary, deluxe and AC buses. Alternatively, One can also plan to hire a cab or come by personal vehicle.
This distance to Mandi can be covered in approximately 12 hrs from Delhi and 6 hrs from Chandigarh (it depends on traffic on the roads or weather conditions) by bus.
Taxis are stationed outside Mandi main bus stand 24 x 7. The cost of a one-way trip to the IIT campus is about Rs. 600/-
Himachal Road Transport Corporation/Local buses also ply between Mandi and Kamand. Please note that these buses sometimes can be crowded.
